The iconic car show is coming back on a new home.
Rumours have been circulating for a few years that BBC Australia was keen to bring back Top Gear Australia. Until now though, no Australian network has shown interest in a third itineration of the series.
But TV Blackbox can reveal Network 10 is set to announce a new season to be specially produced for streaming service Paramount+.
Trusted sources have told this publication the deal has been done and a new series will go into production shortly, set to air in 2024.
The original localised version of the BBC hit aired on SBS from 2008 until 2009. Channel 9 then stepped in acquiring the rights to the UK series. The deal also required the network to produce a local version, which ran from 2010 before being canceled in 2012.
Cannot wait!
Why bother , as usual 10 continue to throw away MILLONS on crap
Its not for Paramount buddy, its for Amazon Prime, you need new sources!
Really pleased this is happening .
What needs to be very carefully done is WHO will be hosting .
You can’t just throw three B personalities together and presume it will all just go well .
Research research and research your audience . It’s for a world wide audience on prime .
…wait a minute …rather than finding three personalities … There are three perfect hosts already signed to prime …
Clarkson, Hammond and May .
Perhaps they could audition.
I reckon the might have the right dynamic .
