CHANNEL 7 Reveals Full Broadcast Guide for 2023 BATHURST 1000

Australia gears up for the exhilarating spectacle as Channel 7 presents the 2023 Repco Bathurst 1000, live and free from Mount Panorama starting Friday, 6th October.

This year is even more special as it marks the 60th anniversary of the iconic race. The renowned motorsport event promises three action-packed days, starting 9:50 am AEDT on Friday, with coverage available across Channel 7, 7mate, and 7plus.

Making the event even more memorable, Mark Beretta, Seven’s motorsport expert, is set for his 25th Bathurst 1000 coverage. He will be teamed up with Mel McLaughlin from 7SPORT. Their dynamic duo is set to be complemented by Erebus Motorsport’s Jack Perkins, offering keen insights between his race stints with co-driver Will Brown.

Emma Freedman is on the ground, ready to capture all the electrifying atmosphere, with Mark Larkham providing live updates straight from the pit lane, supported by Chris Stubbs, Chad Neylon, and Riana Crehan. Commentary from Supercars legends Mark Skaife and Neil Crompton is eagerly anticipated by fans. Furthermore, Bathurst 1000 winner Greg Murphy will also be joining the team to offer special race insights.

Racing fans can also expect to see reigning Bathurst champion Shane van Gisbergen alongside new co-driver Richie Stanaway, with Broc Feeney and Jamie Whincup eager to showcase their racing prowess after their recent victory at Sandown.

Lewis Martin, Managing Director of Seven Melbourne and Head of Network Sport, shared,

“The Bathurst 1000 is undoubtedly the biggest day on the Australian motorsport calendar and we cannot wait to deliver all the best action from Mount Panorama across three full days of adrenaline-charged live and free racing, from this Friday.”

“Once again, Seven has lined up an incredible broadcast team, led by Mark Beretta and Mel McLaughlin, alongside current driver Jack Perkins as he goes back and forth behind the wheel and the mic’ for Seven’s coverage,” he added.

Friday’s broadcasting will spotlight the Supercars practice and qualifying rounds. Saturday, beginning at 9:50 am AEDT across all platforms, is all set for more Supercars practice and the much-awaited Top 10 Shootout. The main event, the Repco Bathurst 1000, revs up on Sunday, with the broadcast kick-starting at 7.30am AEDT and the race taking the stage from 10.30am AEDT.

Dedicated fans can navigate 7plus, which houses a special motorsport hub, offering live and on-demand streaming. Highlights, Bathurst throwbacks, archive footage, and other exclusive content will also be available.

Adding a touch of modern interaction, Channel 7 has collaborated with Komo Technologies and Repco. Together, they are introducing a digital hub aimed at engaging audiences throughout the Bathurst 1000 weekend. The platform offers viewers a chance to vote for their favourite Bathurst decade from the past 60 years and engage in a timed memory challenge with enticing prizes up for grabs.
