MKR’s Lithuanian culinary night leaves guests and judges with mixed feelings. Find out who made the cut and who said goodbye.

In the latest round of My Kitchen Rules (MKR), the Lithuanian culinary adventure of sisters Patricija and Brigita took an unexpected turn. Despite their efforts to introduce traditional Lithuanian dishes, reactions at the table varied wildly.

Throughout their time on MKR, Patricija and Brigita kept things close to the chest, leaving many, including Chris, curious about their culinary intentions. He admitted, “They are my dark horses of the competition.”

As the duo rolled out their menu, there was a palpable sense of anticipation, especially since none of the guests, even the food aficionados Nick and Christian, had ever tried Lithuanian fare. Colin voiced this collective feeling, musing, “There’s an air of mystery about you two… I’m very intrigued to see what we get tonight.”

Starting off the meal, the sisters served Šaltibarščiai (Cold Beet Soup) with Potatoes and Dill. While many enjoyed the dish, eyebrows were raised when Manu pointed out the use of packet beetroot. He critiqued, “The beetroot is the main component of this dish. And they’ve not cooked it in a cooking competition.” In contrast, Colin thought the dish beautifully embodied the contrasting personalities of the sisters.

Next up, their main course was Vedarai (Potato Sausage) accompanied by a Bacon Sour Cream Sauce. Brigita defended the presentation, asserting that while it may not be visually appealing, it was a heartfelt and delicious offering. While it won over Claudean and Chris, the judges weren’t all on the same page. Manu called out the potato filling for its density but praised the sauce. Conversely, Colin was blunt, branding the sauce as “a disaster.”

The dessert round saw them present Medaus Tortas (Honey Cake), a family recipe handed down from their mother. As Patricija plated it, she confessed her anxiety, “If I get the cake wrong, mum will not be happy.” The dessert, however, resonated well with everyone, although both Manu and Colin observed that the serving size was quite generous.

At the culmination of the night, Patricija and Brigita‘s performance left Amber and Mel biting their nails. Despite the roller-coaster evening, both teams drew level at 23 out of 50 from the guest scores. However, when the judges’ scores were tallied, the Lithuanian sisters lagged by a mere two points, resulting in their exit from the competition.

  1. Manu cost those girls a place with his comment regarding cooking beetroot
Colin would have scored higher after all they get told to cook like they would for their family
Plus I can’t stand contestants that score unfairly giving a 3 was rude and shows bad integrity . Hopefully they will be next to go

  2. I agree with your comments entirely. Those that had a vested interest in the result voted accordingly. If you average out the judges and contestants votes they were around 5 or slightly better. Not sure what would have happened if the last two contestants had tied.

  3. Well they should have done better of when they was cooking 🍳 but failed at that and they new after what they should have done better after all its a cooking show ok
