In an exhilarating display of rugby prowess, Channel 9HD and 9Now are set to broadcast Australia’s top rugby league talents this Saturday, commencing at 1.30pm.
These athletes have the distinct honour of being handpicked by the Prime Minister for the illustrious Prime Minister’s XIII Rugby League matches.
The men’s team, featuring the likes of the Queensland captain Daly Cherry-Evans, Nicho Hynes, and the swift-footed Josh Addo-Carr, is scheduled to challenge Papua New Guinea at 4.00pm. This team will be spearheaded by the renowned Cameron Murray.
Before the men take to the field, the day’s action unfolds with the women’s team, locking horns with Papua New Guinea from 1.30pm. The team showcases the talent of NRLW players, including Kennedy Cherrington, the Dragons’ stellar fullback Teagan Berry, and the former Aussie Sevens player Jakiya Whitfeld, now dazzling audiences as a Tigers speedster.
Australia’s vice-captain, Daly Cherry-Evans, expressed his excitement:
“It’s always an honour to represent your country and this game in particular is a special one to be part of.
We know how much the people of PNG love their rugby league so we’re really looking forward to getting up there for the test match.
It’s going to be tough against the Kumuls, but we know what is in front of us and will be well prepared to put in a performance that everyone can be proud of.”
