In an ambitious leap towards becoming a holistic digital media powerhouse, Australia’s independent news platform Ticker has announced the launch of an array of five new Free Ad Supported TV (FAST) channels.

Complementing the platform’s primary Ticker News Channel, these new channels aim to diversify its content offerings across various subjects including finance, cooking, documentaries, fitness, and industry insights.

Each channel aims to serve a niche but essential aspect of modern life, encapsulating the needs of its target audience:

Ticker Money

A channel specifically designed to address the complex but crucial world of finance. Segments on this channel include Ticker Talks Trends, a unique show helmed by Chris Judd and Genevieve Day, focusing on investment opportunities and market behaviour.

The channel also introduces Ticker Talks Growth, hosted by Tim O’Sullivan and Liam Gostencnik, the entrepreneurial minds behind Bae Juice, to discuss startup scaling and business expansion strategies.

Ticker Chef

This 24/7 culinary extravaganza is geared towards making you a master of your kitchen. With hosts like Masterchef alumni Phil Conway and the experienced Ticker host Mike Loder, the channel aims to bring gourmet cooking right into your homes, breaking down complex recipes into easy-to-follow steps.

Ticker Active

Breaking the barrier between fitness centers and homes, Ticker Active will feature easy-to-follow home workouts. Personal trainers such as Sarah Mazza, celebrity trainer Jono Castano, and professional footballer Aaron Evans, offer a variety of workouts designed for all skill levels, aiming to make fitness accessible to everyone.

Ticker Docos

Designed as a repository for high-quality documentaries, this channel promises around-the-clock enlightenment. From social issues to technological advancements, Ticker Docos aspires to cover a broad spectrum of insightful topics.

Ticker Insight

A channel tailored for the intellectually curious, focusing on pivotal discussions in business and industry. Thought leaders and industry experts will come together to discuss, dissect, and provide meaningful dialogue around current events and sector-specific challenges.

The addition of these channels coincides with the release of the brand-new Ticker app, available now for download on Google Play and Apple TV. The app not only houses these new FAST channels but also offers a library of Video On Demand (VOD) content. Plans are already in place to extend the app’s availability to Samsung TVs and Comcast in the United States.

Ahron Young, The Ticker Company CEO, encapsulated the ethos behind this expansion, stating,

“This is a defining moment for team Ticker. Our viewers are urban professionals making key life choices, and we believe we can offer them a singular destination that delivers news, money, tech, and lifestyle — all tailor-made. This is Ticker 3.0.”

The platform’s Chief Operating Officer, Jed Bertalli, praised the team for their relentless efforts. He expressed,

“From conceptualising new channels to overhauling our website and creating new apps, the team has worked tirelessly. The end product is something that not only we are proud of, but that will genuinely assist our viewers in their daily lives.”

To solidify its market strategy, Ticker has appointed Jason Cadd as the Chief Sales Officer. He highlighted the unique demographic Ticker aims to cater to, noting,

“With an average viewer age of 39, we are aiming at a very different market segment. Our viewers are typically urban, tech-savvy professionals who are likely to be working from home and less likely to be familiar with traditional TV setups.”

The network also revealed plans for launching ten new series across these channels in the coming weeks, which will be simulcast during weekends on the Ticker News Channel, thus providing a complete viewing experience.

Ticker’s channels will be accessible not just in Australia through partners like FetchTV, Flash News, and Telstra TV, but also in the U.S via SlingTV and FuboTV, among other global platforms, thus establishing its global footprint in digital media.
