Zan Rowe stated,

“The success of Take 5’s first season confirmed what I’ve long believed: songs hold our stories, and no matter who we are, we all have a deep connection to music.

I’m so proud and happy that Take 5 is returning to prime time with even more incredible epiphanies from the people we love, sharing the songs that made them.”

Recorded across cities like London, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney, this new season of Take 5 aims to delve deeper into the emotional and personal sides of its guests. From Oasis’s Noel Gallagher to Lin-Manuel Miranda, each episode is designed to reveal a more vulnerable side of these icons through their chosen songs.

The show originally took form as a Double J radio segment and podcast, before its successful adaptation to television. Its aim has always been to explore the transformative power of music in people’s lives. Six episodes are scheduled for this season, each focusing on a notable figure in the worlds of music and screen.

The first episode will air on October 10, featuring Noel Gallagher of Oasis fame. Subsequent episodes will include Natalie Imbruglia on October 17, Jimmy Barnes on October 24, Mark Coles Smith on October 31, G Flip on November 7, and finally Lin-Manuel Miranda on November 14.

For those interested in catching up before the new season, Season one is currently available for streaming on ABC iview. The series can also be listened to as a weekly segment on Double J via DAB+, the triple j app, or the ABC listen app.

The upcoming episodes promise not just entertainment, but a journey into the soulful worlds of these icons, affirming once more the universal allure and storytelling power of music. So mark your calendars and prepare to ‘Take 5’ with Zan Rowe.
