The Seven Network is set to launch a brand-new AFL analysis show, “Talking Finals,” beginning Tuesday, 5 September.
Airing on Channel 7 and 7plus, the show aims to dissect footy’s most important moments throughout the 2023 AFL Finals Series.
Hosted by 7AFL’s James Brayshaw, the revamped panel show promises to tackle the most pressing questions in football today. The programme will offer insights from some of the biggest names to have recently tasted finals glory.
Making the line-up extra special, Trent Cotchin, three-time Premiership captain for Richmond, joins the panel in his first media appearance since retiring in Round 23. He will be joined by Geelong Cats’ Premiership captain Joel Selwood, the most experienced Finals Series player in the AFL, and Essendon great Tim Watson of 7NEWS Melbourne.
Each week, 7NEWS AFL Reporter Mitch Cleary will keep fans updated on the latest trade and free agency news with a specific segment dedicated to the topic.
Lewis Martin, Managing Director of Seven Melbourne and Head of Network Sport, shared his excitement.
“Aussies are craving top-notch footy news and analysis as we approach the Finals. We’ve assembled a panel boasting 10 championships, making them the ultimate experts on Finals footy.”
The show aims to take viewers into the heart of what current players, coaches, and clubs are thinking as they set their sights on the final Saturday in September. Martin adds,
“We’re going behind the scenes with AFL legends to give you unprecedented access, all from the comfort of your own home, right here on Seven.”
The debut episode of “Talking Finals” will air at 10 pm AEST, immediately following RFDS. Subsequent episodes will be broadcast at 9 pm AEST on Wednesdays, available on Channel 7 and 7plus.
Fans can also stream episodes on the AFL Hub on 7plus, where they can find a range of other footy content.
