Annabel Crabb is set to return with the seventh series of ABC’s KITCHEN CABINET, premiering on 15 August at 8.00pm on ABC and view.
Episode one will spotlight Independent Dai Le, the Vietnamese-born Australian politician, federal member for Fowler, and councillor for Fairfield/Cabravale Ward. Crabb will travel to Western Sydney, specifically Cabramatta, with Le as they source ingredients for a Vietnamese pancake, bánh xèo.
During the episode, Dai Le will recount her experiences as a refugee, escaping war, surviving cancer, and pirates, leading to her roles in local and federal politics.
Introduced by Crabb in 2011, Kitchen Cabinet involves the host visiting politicians’ homes to cook a meal, with Crabb supplying dessert.
The upcoming series promises insight into the lives of eight politicians, including former Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews, Minister for Indigenous Australians Linda Burney, Opposition Leader Peter Dutton, Nationals Senator Bridget McKenzie, Greens Senator Jordon Steele-John, Independent Senator Lidia Thorpe, and Labor Minister Anika Wells.
Crabb, a member of the Parliamentary Press Gallery since 1999, commented on the changing nature of Parliament, noting its increasing diversity.
KITCHEN CABINET originally ran for six seasons between 2012-2016, featuring over 40 politicians from Prime Ministers to backbenchers. For enthusiasts looking to recap, previous episodes are available with intriguing politician insights.
Behind the scenes, the production team includes Director Stamatia Maroupas, Executive Producer Madeleine Hawcroft, Producer Pauline Ernesto, Associate Producer Brett Worthington, and Editors Elizabeth Graetz & Sally Moran.
