In an eagerly anticipated return, the rage Splendour in the Grass special is back for 2023 on ABC, bringing the VIP music festival experience right to your living room.
This Saturday, July 29, audiences can tune in from 10:30am, or catch the second airing at 11:40pm, on ABC TV and iview.
Lucy Smith, presenter from triple j, will host the event, guiding viewers through the festival’s highlights. This two-hour program has been designed to bring viewers closer to the action, with the rage team setting up in the heart of the backstage action.
Viewers will be treated to an array of live music performances, a series of interviews, and engaging guest programming. An impressive roster of artists such as Skegss, Dune Rats, Idles, Arlo Parks, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard will feature, among others.
In a unique twist, the rage Splendour in the Grass special will also see participating artists, including Dune Rats, Ball Park Music, Tkay Maidza, RVG, Idles, Tove Lo, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, participate in a debate regarding which is more iconic: the rage “scream” or the “whisper”. The artists will also reveal the music videos that frightened them as children.
One of the key questions that the special promises to answer is whether all six members of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard can fit on the infamous red couch.
Audiences are advised to grab their gumboots, gather their mates and prepare for a direct ticket to the festival frivolity, Splendour in the Grass.
