In a big win for viewers, ‘Gruen’ is making its much-awaited return to ABC tonight.

This unique and cherished Australian programme, which focuses on advertising, is launching its impressive 15th season, promising more of its trademark entertaining and enlightening analysis of the advertising world.

Hosted by the quick-witted Wil Anderson, ‘Gruen’ assembles a team of advertising experts dedicated to decoding the industry’s methods. The show has a single objective: to empower audiences to challenge the sway of manipulative advertising. Through its revelations into the often amusing and unexpected strategies employed in the advertising industry, the show has captivated viewers across the country.

In a world where we’re continuously assailed by advertisements – in algorithms, on airwaves, billboards, buses, buildings, cars, clothes, and even our coffee – Gruen stands out. Its informative yet entertaining content makes it a standout in the TV landscape.

This season sees Wil Anderson joined by a lineup of advertising industry veterans, including Russel Howcroft, Todd Sampson, Karen Ferry, Dee Madigan, and Christina Aventi, among other favourites.

Just like the Big Banks and insurance companies, Gruen asserts, “We’re here for you. We get you.” A new season brings the promise of more insights, more revelations, and more humour. In an era where TikTok influences purchases, Gruen humorously offers to make you return it. It encourages viewers to stop acting under the influence of advertisements and start watching a new season of ‘Gruen’.

Gruen, a multi-award-winning and occasionally snubbed tribute to truth in advertising, is making a comeback. No matter how you choose to watch it – on ABC TV, ABC iview, or via the now-common practice of illegal downloads and out-of-context TikTok uploads – Gruen is returning for your viewing pleasure.

The series is a co-production of CJZ and ABC, with Nick Murray, Wil Anderson, and Polly Connolly serving as executive producers, and Rachel Millar as the ABC Executive Producer.

The world premiere of Gruen’s 15th series, starting with the first of nine episodes, is slated to air this Wednesday, 21 June, at 8.30pm on ABC and iview.
