The oven’s preheated, the aprons are on, and an all-new cast is ready to sweeten up your screen as ‘The Great Australian Bake Off’ makes its grand return to Foxtel this week.
Stepping onto the hallowed grounds of the iconic Bake Off shed for the first time are world-renowned culinary icon Rachel Khoo and pastry maestro Darren Purchese. They will take the reins as the new judges of this beloved baking show. Joining them are fresh-faced hosts, comedians Natalie Tran and Cal Wilson, whose heartfelt humour is set to keep spirits high and bakers encouraged throughout the competition.
The new season showcases a diverse group of twelve home baking enthusiasts who will be mentored by Khoo and Purchese through a series of tantalising challenges designed to test their skills and creativity.
Each episode presents the bakers with three themed tasks – Signature, Technical, and Showstopper – covering a wide array of baking categories, from desserts and cakes to biscuits, breads, and pastries. The goal? To discover and celebrate Australia’s best amateur baker.
After 10 weeks and thirty delectable challenges, one baker will rise to the occasion and be crowned the winner of ‘The Great Australian Bake Off’.
“I have absolutely loved being on The Great Australian Bake Off. A total dream job!”
exclaimed Rachel Khoo.
“It has been such a joy to see and taste the bakers’ creations and also to be part of such a fun new line up with Darren, Natalie and Cal.”
The Bake Off franchise, which originated with ‘The Great British Bake Off’ in 2010, has since become a global sensation, with localised versions produced in 35 countries. Now in its sixth season in Australia, ‘The Great Australian Bake Off’ recently bagged the ‘Reality Series Production of the Year’ at the Screen Producers Australia Awards.
The series is a BBC Studios production in Australia for Foxtel, based on a format created by Love Productions and licensed by BBC Studios distribution.
