Trading the glitz and glamour of New York for the charm of rural America, Real Housewives icons Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan are heading to Benton, Illinois, in their brand-new Hayu series, “Luann and Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake.”
Hayu subscribers can look forward to the series, which will be available to stream from 10 July.
In a surprising move by the Benton City Council, the town’s residents were thrilled to learn that the pair had been invited to help revitalise their small community. Benton, which has a population just shy of 7,000, was hit hard by the pandemic, and the arrival of these two Manhattanites promises to bring a welcome spark of energy and excitement.
Upon checking into the local motel, Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan find themselves in an entirely new environment, a fish-out-of-water scenario for them and the town’s residents. Benton’s mayor, keen to harness their big-city know-how, puts the duo to work immediately.
Despite the challenges they face, Luann and Sonja roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. Their tasks range from constructing a new playground to reenergising the local theatre with a high-spirited variety show. Along the way, they form bonds with the locals, contributing to the community spirit and improving the town’s morale.
Whether they’re hunting for the famous crappie fish in the lake or partaking in a spot of mudding with monster trucks, Luann and Sonja’s escapades promise plenty of entertainment. With these two in charge and far from their comfort zone, viewers can expect a series filled with hijinks and hilarity.
