Wednesday Ratings | TRAVEL GUIDES wins primetime as Nine and Seven tie for the night

A tight-three way split for the commercial networks at 7:30pm, and an end to SBS’s biggest program ever.


Channel 9

Nine take wins from A Current Affair (603,000) and Travel Guides (560,000) respectively, and they form a big part of its win for the night. A repeat of The Summit (211,000)Footy Classified (145,000 (MEL/ADL/PER)) or New Amsterdam (DNR (BNE/SYD)) and Council of Dads (DNR) slide in with fragments of the audience.

Nine tied first in primary (19.7%) and first network (27.4%) rankings.

Channel 7

Home & Away (487,000) and The 1% Club Australia (521,000) do a reasonable job for Seven however neither manage to win their timeslot. A double ep of Accused (216,000; 130,000) drives into a repeat of Crime Investigation Australia: Most Infamous (60,000) in the late night.

Seven tied first in primary (19.7%) and second in network (27.3%) rankings.


ABC

7:30 (450,000) and Hard Quiz (472,000) kick off a strong night for the ABC, that sets a good base for The Weekly with Charlie Pickering (401,000) and the premiere of In Limbo (239,000) though the latter doesn’t retain much of it. QI (167,000) is followed by repeats of Take 5 with Zan Rowe (86,000) and Ragdoll (DNR).

ABC third in both primary (12.7%) and network (18.1%) rankings.


Channel 10

More reliable results for The Project (191,000 6:30pm; 298,000 7pm) building into a consistent MasterChef Australia (365,000). North Shore (194,000) slips a little though the catch-up numbers are help. US dramas fill out the evening: Law & Order: SVU (122,000), Fire Country (49,000), and a repeat of Bull (29,000).

10 fourth in both primary (10.1%) and network (16.2%) rankings.

SBS

A monster double ep finale of Alone Australia (245,000 (two episode average)) draws in a good first-run audience for SBS, with more to come via catch-up guaranteed. Blue Lights (106,000) follows afterwards.

SBS fifth in both primary (7%) and network (10.9%) rankings.


KEY DEMOS

16-39: Nine News 6:30pm (94,000) beat Seven News 6:30pm/6pm, Nine News 6pm, and The 1% Club Australia.

18-49: Seven News 6:30pm (181,000) led Nine News 6:30pm, Seven News 6pm, Nine News 6pm, and The 1% Club Australia.

25-54: Nine News 6:30pm (235,000) was followed by Seven News 6:30pm, Nine News 6pm, Seven News 6pm, and Travel Guides.


MULTI-CHANNELS

Bluey – AM (145,000) delivers another multi-channel win for ABC Kids/TV Plus.

No changes to the previous week’s primetime line-up after the Total TV figures were added: Travel Guides (Nine) lifted 23% to 1,053,000; The 1% Club Australia (Seven) lifted 17% to 888,000; and MasterChef Australia (10) lifted 29% to 711,000.

The BVOD best were Alone Australia (265,000), Home and Away (128,000), Travel Guides (123,000), and MasterChef Australia (116,000).
