Channel 9 has categorically dismissed a recently published report concerning the exorbitant wages of its celebrated TV personalities and alleged on-set discord.

Steven Burling, Nine’s Director of Morning Television, was adamant that the reported remuneration figures were “not even remotely correct.”

A recent publication by The Australian alleged the alleged annual salaries of these TV stars, including Today host Karl Stefanovic at $1.5 million and his new co-host Sarah Abo, who replaced Allison Langdon earlier this year, reportedly making around $800,000. It was also alleged $700,000 wage disparity between Stefanovic and Abo that’s been rumoured to be causing on-set tension.

These reported figures, published in several outlets last week, have been causing a stir amongst the audience. However, Burling affirms that loyal viewers of the Today show can verify that the purported tension on-set is unfounded.

“Anyone who watches Today can confirm there’s absolutely no tension on set,”

Burling went on to extend his praise towards the accomplished team of Karl Stefanovic, Sarah Abo, Brooke, Alex and Tim, expressing satisfaction and contentment with their work and camaraderie.
