Australian comedian Hannah Gadsby is set to return to Netflix for their third comedy special, Hannah Gadsby: Something Special, premiering on May 9, 2023.
The Emmy and Peabody Award-winning comedian’s new set is described as smart and feel-good, with topics ranging from their wedding to encounters with bunnies.
The special was filmed at the Sydney Opera House in 2022, the same venue where Gadsby filmed their 2018 sensation Nanette, which went on to win a Peabody award and a Primetime Emmy award.
Their follow-up, Douglas, was also a success, receiving two Primetime Emmy nominations and winning an AACTA Award.
Hannah Gadsby: Something Special is directed by Jenney Shamash and produced by Guesswork Television. The executive producers include Hannah Gadsby, Jenney Shamash, Kevin Whyte, and Kathleen McCarthy. Fans of Gadsby’s previous work can look forward to another entertaining and thought-provoking comedy special from the talented Australian comedian.
