Streaming platform Prime Video has announced that it has secured the Australian broadcast rights to the nature documentary series, Wild Isles, narrated by Sir David Attenborough.
All episodes of the five-part series will be available for streaming on April 21, in time for Earth Day. The series will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, except for the UK, where it will follow the BBC premiere.
Sir David Attenborough, who narrates the series, said that the British Isles are home to extraordinary animal dramas and wildlife spectacles to match anything he has seen on his global travels.
Wild Isles is a natural history series that showcases the British Isles, one of the most diverse and beautiful landscapes on Earth. The series features never-before-seen behaviours and was captured over three years in 4K resolution.
The stunning aerial photography captures the beauty of the British countryside, while motion-controlled time-lapse photography brings to life the story of the passing seasons. The series also features the secret nocturnal lives of many animals captured using the latest low-light cameras, and macro photography reveals the miniature worlds of rock pools, ponds, and grasslands.
The series is produced by Silverback Films, part of All3Media, with Alastair Fothergill, known for his work on Blue Planet, Planet Earth, Frozen Planet, and Our Planet, serving as executive producer. The Open University, The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, and World Wildlife Fund co-produced the series. Banijay Rights will distribute the series.
