Stan has partnered with the BBC to announce the return of their hugely popular series, The Tourist. The six-part thriller will star Jamie Dornan, and production is scheduled to commence in April.
The Tourist season one saw Dornan playing Elliot, a man with no recollection of his past who finds himself in the midst of the Australian outback on a thrilling chase with a tanker truck. As he navigates through the harsh and unforgiving terrain, Elliot must confront merciless figures from his past.
The new season picks up a year after the events of season one and is set in Dublin. Dornan will be joined by Danielle Macdonald, who will reprise her role as Helen.
The season follows the duo as they travel to Ireland, where Elliot hopes to rediscover his roots and confront the demons of his past.
Created and written by Harry and Jack Williams, The Tourist season two is a Two Brothers Pictures production for the BBC, in association with Stan and ZDF. The Williams brothers, Daniel Walker, and Sarah Hammond, will serve as executive producers. The opening block will be directed by Fergus O’Brien, with Johann Perry as the director of photography, and Louise Kiely as the casting director.
Cailah Scobie and Amanda Duthie will be the executive producers for Stan Originals. The series will be sold internationally by All3Media International.
Fans of the show can expect an action-packed, thrilling ride as Elliot and Helen navigate through the dangers of Elliot’s past.
