Every ball of every match from the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 to be shown live and free providing access for all Australians.

Cricket fans across Australia will be able to watch all 23 matches of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 live and free via Kayo Freebies, on Kayo Sports.

The decision by subscription broadcaster the Foxtel Group to make the historic event free for all Australians comes after free-to-air broadcasters declined to bid for broadcast rights for the event.

It also comes at a time when the Federal Government is reviewing the controversial anti-syphoning laws that currently provide protections for free-to-air networks

The eighth edition of the event will take place in South Africa from February 10-26, features 10 teams that will battle it out across 15 days of competition. Every match of this World Cup is being hosted in Africa for the very first time and will be available to stream live and free.

The Australian women’s T20 side has been the most dominant team in World Cup history. The Aussie women’s team has lifted the trophy five times across the event’s history. Meg Lanning’s side are shooting for a hat-trick when they head to South Africa, having been World Cup champions in 2018 and 2020.

They face New Zealand, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and South Africa in the group stage. Meanwhile, England, Ireland, India, Pakistan and West Indies battle it out in the other group, with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the semi-finals.

Meg Lanning, Australian captain, said:

“I can’t wait for the World Cup – they are always very special tournaments. It’s the first time many of the squad have been to South Africa, so it’s a new challenge. We’re incredibly excited to get under way with a tough game first up against New Zealand.

“It’s a game changer that the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will be so accessible to everyone. We always feel so much support from everyone back home. World Cups have the best players from around the world in one place so it’s going to be a high-quality tournament to watch!”
