Channel 7 has finally confirmed a return date for US medical drama The Good Doctor.

After a lengthy summer break, the series will resume midway through season six from this Tuesday, February 14 at 9:15pm. The decision to return The Good Doctor will see new sci-fi reboot Quantum Leap pushed back to 10:15pm

In the mid-season return episode, Dr. Shaun Murphy unknowingly creates a competition between Drs. Danica Powell and Daniel Perez when he introduces a new performance rating system. Meanwhile, Dr. Morgan Reznick may have crossed a line with Dr. Alex Park.

The Good Doctor stars Freddie Highmore as Shaun Murphy, a gifted, young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome. Shaun relocates from a quiet country life when he is recruited to join the pediatric surgical unit at the prestigious San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital.

The Good Doctor – Season 6, Episode 9 airs Tuesday February 14 at 9:15pm on Channel 7 and 7plus
