The highly anticipated second season of The Test, an Australian Amazon Original Documentary, has premiered with a world premiere screening in Sydney.
The red carpet event featured Australian Test Cricket stars, including Pat Cummins, Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Travis Head, and members of the Australian women’s team, Hannah Darlington, Maitlan Brown, and Ash Gardner.
The four-part docuseries, directed by Adrian Brown and Sheldon Wynne, offers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the Australian men’s cricket team as they strive to be the best in the world, despite leadership changes.
The series follows the team during the 2021/22 Test Season as they face off against England, play in Pakistan for the first time in over two decades, and compete with Sri Lanka amidst anti-government protests.
“The first installment really brought everyone into the dressing rooms,”
said Australian captain Pat Cummins.
“This time you will see more of the personalities inside the dressing room, sharing stories from inside and outside of cricket. There are also some really special moments with players and their families.”
The Test Season Two is a collaboration between Amazon Studios, Cricket Australia, and Whooshka Media. The producers are Mish Armstrong, Adrian Brown, and Richard Ostroff.
The Test was the biggest sports series to date for Prime Video in Australia. The second season promises to offer even more rare insight into the lives of the Australian men’s cricket team, including captain Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, Scott Boland, David Warner, and Usman Khawaja.
