Channel 10’s bold move to launch a new format has fallen spectacularly flat, which again pushes the primary channel AND network into fourth.

Nine again bring home a big win off the back of The Block (970,000) and a resurgent 60 Minutes (530,000) – the latter always benefitting from Australian stories landing front and centre. The First 48 (117,000) and Killer Couples (71,000) don’t do much in the later/late night.
Nine first in both primary (26.3%) and network (32.9%) rankings.

Australia’s Got Talent (556,000) up on last Monday’s ep but down on the Sunday premiere last week for Seven. A few tune in for Murder in the Goldfields (245,000) that runs long, and then even fewer stick in for Born to Kill (87,000).
Seven second in both primary (20.9%) and network (27.8%) rankings.

The season finale of Spicks and Specks (490,000) ticked up for the ABC – not quite its highest for the run, but top 3. The premiere of Significant Others (369,000) drew a reasonable crowd that will draw a bigger audience through the Total TV figures. Silent Witness (223,000) opened up the later night, followed by repeats of The Newsreader (53,000) and Shetland (35,000).
ABC third in both primary (13%) and network (17.4%) rankings.

10 now in all sorts of trouble. The Sunday Project (217,000 6:30pm; 243,000 7pm) continues to underperform, and their new stripped reality series The Traitors (257,000) has failed to connect with much of an audience. Perhaps, hopefully, it will lift through the week. NCIS: Hawaii (122,000) and a repeat of FBI (93,000) filled out the later and late night.
10 fourth in both primary (8.6%) and network (13.8%) rankings.

SBS kept it all historical, starting with Curse of the Ancients: Roman Empire (139,000), and then into repeats of Ancient Egypt’s Darkest Hour (102,000) and Dolly: The Sheep That Changed The World (37,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (4.4%) and network (8%) rankings.

KEY DEMOS

16-39: The Block (162,000) slides in front of Seven News Sunday, Australia’s Got Talent, Nine News Sunday, and The Traitors.

18-49: The Block (308,000) beat out Seven News Sunday, Nine News Sunday, Australia’s Got Talent, and 60 Minutes.

25-54: The Block (400,000) takes another triple demo crown, followed by Seven News Sunday, Nine News Sunday, 60 Minutes, and Australia’s Got Talent.

  1. Bring back real entertainment TV series shows e.g., Drama, Musical, Comedy, etc. These so called reality shows have had their day!

  3. What a shame, they’re the only comm network having a crack with something (slightly) new, I’m sad to see this. Was a good promo too. 🙁

  4. Reality shows drive us all to Netflix and Stan and Foxtel go back to the late 80s and early 90 s tv shows were exciting 😜🤙

  5. Considering on weekdays at 3pm, Tipping Point regularly sneaks into the top 20, I surprised a local version hasn’t been snapped up!!

  6. Bring back big money quiz shows! Have the audience actually play along on the internet in real time. Invite the top players at home onto the following week’s show.
