HOUSE OF THE DRAGON already confirmed for second season on BINGE and FOXTEL

After delivering record ratings for its premiere episode, HBO has rushed to confirm Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon has been renewed for a second season.

The year’s most anticipated TV show premiered on Monday 22 August with the first episode pulling in the biggest audience for any show at premiere across BINGE and FOXTEL.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s fantasy novel “Fire & Blood,” House of the Dragon is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, and tells the story of House Targaryen.

The star-studded ensemble cast includes Paddy Considine (The Third Day), Matt Smith (The Crown), Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One), Emma D’Arcy (Truth Seekers), Steve Toussaint (Doctor Who), Eve Best (Nurse Jackie), Sonoya Mizuno (Ex Machina), Fabien Frankel (The Serpent) and Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill). 

The series also features Australians Milly Alcock (Upright) as Young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Ryan Corr (The Water Diviner)as Ser Harwin ‘Breakbones’ Strong. 

Additional cast includes Bethany Antonia (Get Even), Phoebe Campbell(Midsomer Murders), Emily Carey (Casualty), Harry Collett (Dunkirk), Tom Glynn-Carney (Dunkirk), Jefferson Hall (Game of Thrones), David Horovitch (Miss Marple), Wil Johnson (Waking the Dead), John Macmillan (Back), Graham McTavish (Outlander), Ewan Mitchell (The Last Kingdom), Theo Nate (Time), Matthew Needham (Sanditon), Bill Paterson (Miss Potter), Phia Saban (The Last Kingdom), Gavin Spokes (The Ipcress File) and Savannah Steyn (Crawl).
