The biggest season yet of AFLW kicks off tonight on FOX FOOTY

AFLW is back, with the seventh season kicking off tonight live on Fox Footy when traditional rivals Carlton meet Collingwood.

The unveiling of the AFLW expansion to all 18 clubs means this will be the biggest season yet to broadcast across FOXTEL and streaming on Kayo Sports.

With an additional four clubs entering the AFLW in season seven, there will be 540 players across all 18 clubs, making the AFL the largest employer of female athletes in Australia.

Fox Footy has confirmed media sensation and host Brihony Dawson will join the team this year. Fox Footy General Manager Michael Neill commented on their impressive burst on to televisions screens:

“Brihony is a natural star and a fantastic addition to our line-up of hosts. Their energy and warmth in front of the camera is contagious and we can’t wait for them to join our growing AFLW team this season.”

Magpies star Chloe Molloy has become known as Fox Footy’s resident “triple-threat”, adding TV producing to her commentating and footy career in recent months.

“I love my football and being in an organisation that is all about football, what a dream. We are all a team trying to achieve the same goal. Whether that’s on the field or off it.”

Bulldogs Ellie Blackburn and Isabel Huntington, Magpie Ruby Schleicher, Tigers Sarah Hosking and Katie Brennan, Blue Kerryn Peterson plus Geelong’s Isaac Smith will headline the contemporary cluster of current day stars in the FOX FOOTY team.

Carlton coach Daniel Harford will return, joining callers Leigh Montagna, Kelli Underwood, Adam Papalia, Ben Waterworth, Jess Webster and Jack Heverin in the commentary box.

Yokayi Footy’s Megan Waters further bolsters the team alongside special comments from Lauren Wood, Kerryn Peterson, Chyloe Kurdas, Nikki Harwood, Will Schofield and Bella Leembruggen.

Fox Footy, which is available to watch on Channel 504 on FOXTEL and streaming on Kayo Sports, will broadcast every match of every round and every final, including the Grand Final LIVE in HD with no ad-breaks during play.
