…and so the finales begin…

Married At First Sight (1,140,000) wins the night easily again with its penultimate episode, and delivers the best numbers it has seen all season…another monster season for Nine. Part one of Underbelly: Vanishing Act (719,000) does solid business – it kept a reasonable chunk of the audience out of MAFS, in which case it has done its job. The First 48 (101,000)
and Shallow Grave (64,000) aren’t lighting any fires in the late evening.
Nine first in both primary (31.8%) and network (38.9%) rankings.

The finale of Dancing With The Stars: All-Stars (564,000) delivers a slight boost to Seven as Grant Denyer takes the mirror ball trophy for the second time. Crime Investigation Australia (193,000) isn’t really doing anything sizeable in the later evening, and slips on last week. Born To Kill? (104,000) and The Blacklist (38,000) deliver some joy to fans and little else.
Seven second in both primary (19.3%) and network (26.8%) rankings.

An up and down night for poor old 10. The Sunday Project (233,000 6:30pm; 319,000 7pm) slides back to its usual poor start to the week but at least it was up on last week…no Lisa a factor? The penultimate episode of Australian Survivor (464,000) does much needed and slightly better business than last week. New and repeat eps of FBI (216,000; 126,000) don’t do much other than mark time.
10 third in both primary (10.5%) and network (15.6%) rankings.

Grand Designs New Zealand (350,000) kicks off the ABC’s Sunday with semi-reasonable numbers, though slipping a little from last week. Troppo (184,000) and Killing Eve (67,000) both fare far better in the Total TV figures from last week, as the first-run linear broadcast numbers are quite low. A repeat of Harrow (37,000) completes the evening of drama.
ABC fourth in both primary (8.6%) and network (12.3%) rankings.

An up and down Sunday for SBS: a repeat of Back to the Titanic (75,000), new Meeting Gorbachev (94,000), and a repeat of The Secret History of World War II (57,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (3.2%) and network (6.4%) rankings.

  1. Does the curtain-hook extend from stage left or stage right? I can never remember.
In any case it appears to have extended its welcoming embrace to The Pious One on The Sunday Project.
Their was neither hide nor hair nor repurposed primary school art-smock on set last night.
    And the numbers went up.
If that curtain-hook is in a position of power and authority to oppress (or hook) small, female TV presenters there could well be a story for the team right there.
In the coming weeks we will no doubt hear all about this horrible travesty.
Followed by a hilarious TikTok cat video.
    News presented differently indeed.
