Tonight on 7NEWS – Steve Waugh opened up on Shane Warne in excerpts from the hour long special, Warnie, which premieres 7.30pm tomorrow, Wednesday, 23 March on Channel 7 and 7plus.

Steve Waugh:

“His legacy was that he drew people to watch cricket that would never consider doing it before.”

“I guess a lot of Australians saw a bit of themselves in that larrikin streak and they imagined that.. if they played for Australia, that’s how they’d want to play.” 

The hour-long special showcases the highs and lows of one of Australia’s most famous cricketers, who built an extraordinary career both on and off the pitch. It includes must-see interviews from celebrities including former teammates and television personalities.
