DWTS returns to mediocre fanfare as the Olympics farewells…but nothing comes close to the drama on Nine (except maybe the Vera finale on the ABC).
Nine deliver a winner with Married At First Sight (926,000) as the number one program for the evening, down slightly on last week however still in front by a sizeable margin. 60 Minutes (581,000) pipped by Vera on the ABC, though still strong. Australian Crime Stories (158,000) and The First 48 (87,000) run out the night.
Nine first in both primary (24.9%) and network (32.5%) rankings.
Seven won’t be stoked with the premiere of the new season of Dancing With The Stars: All-Stars (588,000) down 21% on last year’s first ep, especially after trumpeting they are up on last year (up off a low base is an easy thing to achieve, especially with an Olympics in the fray). The rest of the evening was goodbye to Beijing which drew a diminishing audience: 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics – Figure Skating Gala (457,000), 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics – Countdown (264,000), and 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics – Closing Ceremony (183,000).
Seven second in both primary (22.3%) and network (28%) rankings.
Grand Design New Zealand (440,000) starts the ABC’s night sold, however it’s the finale of Vera (600,000) that owns the 8:30pm timeslot. Repeats of Patrick Melrose (73,000) and Harrow (36,000) flesh out the schedule.
ABC third in both primary (13.4%) and network (16.8%) rankings.
This is diabolical for 10. The Sunday Project (212,000 6:30pm; 296,000 7pm) slips to its lowest numbers ever, while Australian Survivor (491,000) lands its third lowest numbers for the season. Then add in a double repeat of FBI (178,000; 137,000) that nobody cares about and here we are with the network in fourth – AGAIN – and the audience not tuning in – AGAIN.
10 fourth in both primary (11.3%) and network (15.6%) rankings.
Family secrets rule the roost on SBS for Sunday: Curse of King Tut (113,000), Lost Cities of the Trojans (93,000), and a repeat of Every Family Has A Secret (114,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (4.2%) and network (7.1%) rankings.
