Thursday Ratings | MAFS beats the Winter Olympics; Nine wins a weak night

Sure, it’s only the first night of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games, and it’s two days until the Opening Ceremony…Seven will be hoping their weak start turns around quick smart.

A Current Affair (592,000) still owns 7pm for Nine, even though it is up and down. Married At First Sight (752,000) has a free run however slides to its lowest this week. The premiere of Australia Behind Bars (471,000) wins the later night categorically, and then Prison (123,000) runs out the schedule.
Nine first in both primary (24.2%) and network (32.8%) rankings.

Home and Away (481,000 7pm; 413,000 late 7:30pm-8:30pm) rolls it’s first triple ep on Thursday for Seven, and then it was into 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games – Night 1/Evening 1 (237,000; 335,000). It’ll get better.
Seven second in both primary (20.4%) and network (30.3%) rankings.

Summer 7:30 (447,000) and Kurt Fearnley’s One Plus One (223,000) pair for a reasonable pair, the former doing good business on a Thursday for the ABC. New Alan and Miriam: Lost in Scotland (218,000) and a repeat of Climate Change: The Facts (122,000) run out the night.
ABC third in both primary (9.3%) and network (14.1%) rankings.

The Project (212,000 6:30pm; 344,000 7pm) slides into its usual Thursday oblivion on 10. Repeats of Bondi Rescue (241,000) and Territory Cops (220,000) can’t compete in primetime, so it was only fans that stuck around for new then repeat Law & Order: SVU (161,000; 137,000) and new Blue Bloods (99,000).
10 fourth in both primary (8.4%) and network (13.7%) rankings.

SBS deliver new Scenic Coastal Walks with Kate Humble (169,000) and The Long Call (190,000), along with a repeat of Incredible Journeys with Simon Reeve (62,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (5%) and network (9.1%) rankings.


KEY DEMOS

16-39: Married at First Sight (159,000) beat out Australia Behind Bars, Seven News 6pm/6:30pm, and Nine News 6pm.

18-49: Married at First Sight (314,000) led Australia Behind Bars, Seven News 6pm/6:30pm, and Nine News 6pm.

25-54: Married at First Sight (365,000) takes the triple demo crown, followed by Nine News 6pm/6:30pm, Seven News 6pm, and Australia Behind Bars.

Neighbours (115,000) on 10 Peach takes another daily multi-channel win for the week.

No changes to the previous week’s primetime line-up after the Total TV figures were added: 2022 Australian Open D11 – Night (Nine) lifted 6% to 2,178,000; I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! show/elimination (10) both lifted 21% to 789,000/845,000; and Mates on a Mission (Seven) lifted 9% to 459,000.

The BVOD best was 2022 Australian Open D11 – Night (115,000).
