SCREEN FOREVER delegates have the opportunity to submit a one-page document for Pitch On Demand @ SF36.

Screen Producers Australia (SPA) today launched the first pitching opportunities open to SCREEN FOREVER Delegates. Pitch On Demand @ SF36, the second instalment of the hugely successful Pitch On Demand initiative which will take place as a part of the SPA Connect Domestic Market at SCREEN FOREVER in March 2022.

The SPA Connect Domestic Market is the business end of SCREEN FOREVER, responsible for over $100 million in business deals annually. It is here that the successful applicants will meet participating executives from the ABC and SBS for one-on-one meetings to discuss their submissions.

Both broadcasters have provided specific commissioner briefs for content they are looking for. Mary-Ellen Mullane, Managing Editor of Children’s Content at the ABC is interested in animated, live, or factual children’s content while Julie Eckersley, Head of Scripted at SBS is seeking diverse scripted programming in the magic realism and speculative fiction genres.

Delegates can submit one application per commissioner and successful applicants will be notified in early February, with pitch meetings being held at SCREEN FOREVER in March 2022.

SPA CEO Matthew Deaner said:

“We were blown away by the success of Pitch On Demand earlier this year and saw over 2,000 registrations from members to join the live commissioner briefings, resulting in 340 members submitting 732 pitches. Initiatives like Pitch On Demand provide invaluable opportunities for content creators to secure investment which helps create a sustainable and thriving screen industry in Australia.”

Further SCREEN FOREVER and SPA Connect Market opportunities will be announced in the coming weeks.
