UFC fight fans will enjoy a blockbuster for breakfast this Sunday on ESPN, with UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs Rodriguez live from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Sunday’s main card begins live at 8am AEDT on ESPN2 where #1 ranked contender and former champion Max Holloway faces #3 ranked featherweight Yair Rodriguez.
Both fighters head into Sunday’s main event seeking a UFC Featherweight championship opportunity against reigning champion, Australia’s Alexander Volkanovski.
Holloway is seeking another chance at the title he once held.
Volkanovski got the better of Holloway in the pairs previous two fights in the Octagon, but the Hawaiian is hoping a victory on Sunday will set up a third showdown in 2022.
Rodriguez meanwhile has long chased a title opportunity of his own, and claiming the scalp of #1 contender Holloway should confirm his chance.
He has several high profile victories, having defeated Dan Hooker, BJ Penn and Jeremy Stephens to secure his showdown with Holloway on Sunday at the UFC Apex.
The heavyweights will also collide at UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs Rodriguez when Ben Rothwell and Marcos Rogerio De Lima face off in a battle of the big boys.
Women’s featherweights also feature on the main card, with Felicia Spencer and Leah Letson squaring off.
Sunday’s action begins at 5am AEDT with the UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs Rodriguez prelims, before the main card follows at 8am AEDT, both live on ESPN2.
SC: UFC Fight Camp will also have all the latest news out of fight week, premiering 6.30pm AEDT Thursday November 11 on ESPN.
