Justine Clarke continues her road trip adventure into the heart of Australian country music.

Having learned our country music origins she journeys to the place that has played a huge role in country music: Tamworth.

Justine will discover that Tamworth is a town full of bright lights and brilliant country music memories. But there’s some dark shadows too. Justine will uncover how country music played its role taking on racism, standing up for women and explaining just who we are.

Then Justine drives to the beautiful Snowy Mountains. She connects with some of our greatest musicians performing some of Australia’s iconic country songs. Her journey will bring her back to the city to find genres blending in Australia’s first fusion of rap and country music.

Along the way Justine is determined to find a country song that she can perform. One that surprises her. It’s a risk but getting the chance to sing an iconic Aussie country song is something that both thrills and scares her at the same time.

This heartfelt and cinematic series is helmed by award-winning director Kriv Stenders (Slim and I, The Go-Betweens: Right Here). And features musical performances by Fanny Lumsden, Troy Cassar-Daley and Briggs, and the Melbourne Indie Voices, amongst many others.

  1. Oh please!!!! The show was about country music, not your political agenda. He is a country singer, not a politician. We get enough of that on the news.
