You have got to hand it to AFL commentary giant, Brian ‘BT’ Taylor for having a mighty work ethic.
After recently being announced as a co-host for Seven’s big-budget Mini-Golf event, Holey Moley, Some people in AFL circles were left wondering if this new role would create a job vacancy in the AFL commentary booth.
Holey Moley is about to commence production in Los Angeles. The production will utilise a massive customised set that is also featured in the US version of hit format.
TV Blackbox can confirm Taylor’s US commitments will indeed see him miss the traditional Thursday night opener and Friday night clash of round one. Something that has no doubt frustrated the big man whom is always eager to protect his patch.
So perhaps its unsurprising workaholic Taylor has booked himself onto the first available Saturday flight and has every intention of being at the MCG for Seven’s coverage of Hawthorn vs Brisbane on Sunday afternoon.
BT’s new role on Holey Moley will see him joined in the commentary booth by American actor/comedian Rob Riggle (Step Brothers, The Hangover, The Other Guy), Riggle is well familiar with the format having already hosted the US version.
The show will also feature Australian golfing great Greg Norman in a mentor role, while actress Olympia Valance appear as a Sideline Reporter.
Will this be a copy paste of the USA show, rehashing their format completely? Even using the same obstacle course. I guess Ch7 are trying to grab the Lego masters/ninja viewers? Will be interested to see what they do with this show and when they’re putting it to air.
Hi Patrick – yes, it’s a carbon copy of the format, with mostly new cast in the host/commentary roles.
Thanks. Ok. Will keep a lookout for air date.
