The multi-award-winning ABC comedy series Rosehaven, written by and starring two of Australia’s favourite comedians Luke McGregor and Celia Pacquola, starts filming today in Tasmania on season four.

Season four of Rosehaven finds best friends Daniel (Luke McGregor – TV Week Logie Award – Most Popular Actor for his role) and Emma (Celia Pacquola – AACTA Best TV Comedy Performance Award for her role) in a post-apocalyptic waste land – defending themselves against the mutated wildlife after an accident at the Rosehaven nuclear power plant… No, not really – they’re still real estate agents in a small town, a quite nice one.  They work and live together now – which is fine. They’re possibly getting on each other’s nerves but that’s normal when they’re spending every waking moment together, right? Maybe it’s time they find an extra friend? Or start dating… Not each other GROSS.

At least they’re finally getting into the groove of being real real estate agents. They’ve both sold houses, they both have a fairly good relationship with the townspeople, and they’re the only real estate agency in town – at least they were. For the first time, McCallum Real Estate is getting some competition in the form of another agent. Daniel and Emma (and Daniel’s mum Barbara (Kris McQuade), who’s still in charge…) will have to draw upon all their skills, all their local knowledge – TO DEFEAT… someone that will remain unnamed to avoid spoiling the plot too much.

The eight-part ABC comedy will continue to showcase Tasmania’s unique stories, characters and landscapes to the rest of the world. Rosehaven is filmed over seven weeks, entirely in Tasmania, around the historic and picturesque locations of Richmond, Geeveston, New Norfolk, Longley, Seven Mile Beach and Cambridge.

Joining the Rosehaven returning cast of Sam Cotton (Diary of an Uber Driver) as town bully Bruce, Noela Foxcroft as octogenarian receptionist Mrs Marsh, Katie Robertson (Five Bedrooms) as Daniel’s ex, Grace, Kim Knuckey as Sergeant Greg, David Quirk (Please Like Me) as Emma’s ex, Damien, legendary comic Anthony Morgan as town crank Phil, Mick Davies as Maddrick and Susie Youssef (The Project) as op shop owner Gez are new guest cast including Zahra Newman (Wentworth, Diary of an Uber Driver), Josh Quong Tart (Mr Inbetween), YouTube sensation Natalie Tran and stand-up comedian Geraldine Hickey (Have You Been Paying Attention?).

Celia Pacquola and Luke McGregor said: “We’re ridiculously happy to be back for a fourth time – so we can say ‘HA!’ to all the people that said we’d never get four seasons. Unfortunately, no one said that, everyone’s been really supportive. If anyone did say that, they haven’t said it to our faces – so we have no way of knowing who to say ‘HA!’ to – but if you’re reading this… ‘HA!’. Thank you to everyone who helped us get here. You know who you are – and we’re not just saying that because we’re too lazy to list all of you”.

ABC Head of Comedy Rick Kalowski said: “Rosehaven is a comic gift that keeps giving, as popular as it was on debut, and even more loved now as a national institution. ABC couldn’t be prouder of this hilarious, beautiful show.”

Rosehaven season four starts filming Monday 21 October.

    • Hi Ann – the ABC haven’t scheduled it, though it is slated for 2020. I’d expect to see it in March. 🙂
