Just what was TODAY’S newest sports presenter Tony Jones saying to himself as the program came out of commercial break yesterday morning?
Thats the question pondered by a numbers of us after a video (see below) was circulated by Showbiz guru Peter Ford on social media yesterday.
After some ‘highly scientific, deep forensic’ investigation, TV Blackbox can confirm TJ was reminding himself “I’m nice, I’m happy”.
Presumably the phrase was an instruction from a producer reminding everyone on set that this is morning TV and we need to look like we are having fun.
Yesterday was a busy day for Jones, after starting on-air at 5:30am for TODAY, he then hosted the 3AW morning program from 8:30am until midday, before hosting NINE’S primetime Tennis coverage from 7:30pm until late. Let’s hope TJ remains nice and happy till the end of the Open.
“I’m nice and happy” I suspect he was repeating an instruction from a producer to look happy.
