HBO has today released a new teaser trailer for the highly anticipated third season of True Detective.
Season 3 of the show will follow the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks, and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods.
Viewers will be desperately hoping the 3rd season will provide a return to the intense story-telling and acting performances which led to the original series receiving acclaim from critics and viewers, and not the poorly scripted, over-hyped mess which was season 2.
Academy Award winning actor Mahershala Ali will take the lead of Wayne Hayes, a state police detective from Northwest Arkansas. Carmen Ejogo and Stephen Dorff will also feature in lead roles.
Foxtel has confirmed to DeciderTV that True Detective Season 3 will air express from the US in January 2019 on the showcase channel.
