Weekend binge-watch: Mr Robot (Presto, Season 2 premiere July 14)

The first season of this cyber thriller starring Rami Malek and Christian Slater was one of the biggest hits of 2015. Malek stars as Elliot Alderson, a computer engineer and hacker who is recruited by the mysterious f-society to help bring down the multinational Evilcorp. Among his colleagues are the mysterious Mr Robot (Christian Slater), Darlene (Carly Chaikin) and childhood friend Angela (Portia Doubleday). Presto is fast-tracking this Golden Globe winning series as of July 14, so you have most of the week to catch up on the first season.

Episodes: Seasons 1-4 (Stan, July 14)

Matt Le Blanc stars as himself in this satirical take on Hollywood. The talent behind an award winning British sitcom are courted by Hollywood producers, who want to make their own version of the show. Matt Le Blanc is cast as the lead in the US remake, which leads to friction both on nd off the set.

Fellini Collection: La Dolce Vita, 8 ½, Nights in Calabria (Stan, July 8)

This weekend, Stan is bringing some of Frederico Fellini’s best work to Australian streaming. The Italian screenwriter and director has been nominated for 12 Academy Awards, and his films are considered to be some of the greatest of all time. One of the films coming to Stan, 8 ½, was named as the tenth greatest film of all time by the film magazine Sight & Sound.

The Invitation (Netflix, July 8)

While attending a dinner party at his former house where he lived with his ex-wife and their son before his accidental death, Will begins to suspect that his ex-wife and her new husband (Michael Huisman, Game of Thrones, Nashville) have sinister plans for their guests in this 2015 horror film.
