Iconic French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier is the latest in a slew of international celebrity judges signing up for a guest spot on Foxtel’s hottest flagship reality series – Australia’s Next Top Model.
The highly celebrated and influential designer is set to appear in one of the most anticipated episodes of the series that will feature treasured designs from his fashion archives, flown in especially for the show from his atelier in Paris.
Jean Paul said: “I am really looking forward to meeting the girls and seeing how they respond to modelling my designs. It’s important to me that they bring their own personality to the garments.
I’ve worked with so many incredibly beautiful and talented Australian women throughout my career including, Kylie Minogue, Nicole Kidman, Catherine McNeil and Gemma Ward to name just a few and I hope we can find the next big Aussie superstar on Australia’s Next Top Model. “
Jean Paul has always been at the forefront of fashion design and international style since his career began in 1970 working for Piere Cardin. Throughout the decades his edgy ‘ready to wear’ and ‘haute couture’ collections have been a constant presence on the catwalks in Paris and worn by the some of the world’s biggest stars including music legend Madonna whom he collaborated with on her Blonde Ambition Tour in 1990 to create the now iconic cone shaped bra. And in 2003 he was appointed head designer at Hermes where he remained until 2011 before moving on to Diet Coke as their new creative director.
Jean Paul Gaultier will appear in Season nine of Australia’s Next Top Model which will air on Foxtel in 2015.
