US based IPTV provider Netflix has today confirmed it’s acclaimed drama “House of Cards” will return for a third season.
The online video provider had previously been cagey about the future of the series, which initially received a two-season order of 13 episodes apiece.
As previously revealed by Nelbie.com, Foxtel will premiere episode one of season two at 12:00pm EDST – 15th of February on the Showcase Channel. This is the same time that the episode will become available in the US to Netflix subscribers.
At the same time as episode one airs on TV all 13 episodes of Season 2 will be made available to stream online via Foxtel’s OnDemand service allowing customers to binge watch the series.
The remanding 12 episodes of season 2 will also air at 8:30pm Saturday nights on Showcase.
Netflix offered no details concerning production start or release date for the third season’s 13 episodes.
“House of Cards” stars Kevin Spacey as a diabolical former U.S. senator now risen to vice president.
The first season instantly made Netflix a force in the arena of original video content and snagged nine prime-time Emmy nominations. Robin Wright won a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Spacey’s scheming wife.
