Under the terms of the new deal Foxtel will broadcast every championship race event including practice, qualifying and support categories live in HD on Fox Sports. Only key races including the Bathurst 1000, Clipsal 500, Gold Coast 600 and Sydney 500 will be simulcast on Ten.

Fans of the V8 series will be forced to pay a minimum of $50 per month if they wish to watch the entire championship series via Fox Sports.

While no one is talking publicly about the details of the new deal. Several sources have confirmed to this website that the majority of the V8 Championship will be exclusive to Foxtel. Foxtel has also gained Digital rights to series as part of the 241 Million dollar deal.

Speaking at the announcement of the deal Foxtel CEO Richard Freudenstein, said

“Hundreds of thousands of Australians love motorsports and I know that dedicated fans will be delighted that Foxtel and FOX SPORTS will be able to deliver a breadth and depth of coverage of the V8 Supercars Series that they’ve never seen before.

“Not only will the series be available in amazing High Definition on the Foxtel cable and satellite service, fans will also be able to enjoy all the action on the move with Foxtel Go or with the convenience of Foxtel Play.”
