The Nine Network’s broadcast
of the 2013 NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final between the Sydney Roosters and the
Manly Sea Eagles was a ratings smash, recording a peak national (5 City Metro
and regional combined) audience of 3.928 million.

The average national (5 City Metro
and regional combined) audience for the thrilling match which saw the Roosters
come from behind to win 26-18 was a massive 3.315 million viewers.

Across the 5 City Metro, the game
which was contested before a near-capacity crowd of 81,491, recorded a peak
audience of 2.608 million with an average of 2.237 million viewers
to be the easy No. 1 program of the night.

This was the highest rating NRL Grand
Final played between two Sydney teams since the Sydney Roosters v Penrith Panthers match of 2003.

In Sydney, the Roosters’ first
premiership win in 11 years achieved a peak audience of 1.185 million, with an average of 1.076 million viewers.

In Brisbane, the game secured a peak
audience of 693,000 with an average of 597,000viewers.

In Melbourne, it drew a peak audience
of 525,000 and an
average of 422,000 viewers.

In Adelaide, the peak audience was
69,000, while the average audience was 39,000.

And in Perth, where the match was
broadcast live from just after 4.00pm, the peak audience was 137,000 with an
average of 102,000 viewers.
This makes it the highest rating NRL Grand Final in Perth since the
introduction of OzTam in 2001.

The pre-match Grand Final Entertainment, which featured dazzling performances
from Ricky Martin and Jessica Mauboy, was the No. 2 program of the night across
the 5 City Metro and achieved a peak audience of 1.609 million with
an average of 1.301 million viewers.

The post-match Grand Final Presentation, broadcast only in Sydney, Brisbane and
Adelaide, secured a peak audience of 1.394 million, with an average of 1.040 million viewers. It was the No. 2 program of the night in
Sydney and Brisbane.
