Foxtel launches PULP channel dedicated to cult and provocative cinema
Foxtel has unveiled PULP, a new High Definition movie channel dedicated to cult, controversial and conversation-starting films.
Available on Channel 415 within the Movies Tier on FOXTEL, and also streaming via FOXTEL NOW, FOXTEL GO, BUSINESS IQ, and BINGE, the new channel is owned and produced in-house by the Foxtel Group and is designed to showcase films that “spark conversations, divide critics, and refuse to play it safe.”
The curated line-up includes cult favourites and provocative titles such as Showgirls, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, reflecting a focus on cinema that challenges convention across genres including thrillers, cult classics and bold dramas.
According to Foxtel, the launch of PULP expands the company’s movie offering by creating a dedicated destination for unconventional and distinctive films, while broadening the appeal of both FOXTEL and BINGE for committed film fans.
The company says the introduction of the channel forms part of the Foxtel Group’s broader investment strategy to enhance its entertainment line-up through new channels, app integrations and premium content partnerships.
When I think of the word “Pulp”, a movie channel is not what comes to mind. Interesting branding choice. Will likely get people talking.
