Since its inception in 2005, the i98FM Illawarra Convoy has been a remarkable success, surpassing a total of $22 million in funds raised by 2022. This year’s event, led by Coles on the motorbike front and Menai Haulage for trucks, is anticipated to be the grandest yet.

Notably, Menai Haulage‘s generous donation of $300,001 ensures its second consecutive year leading the convoy, alongside young Nate Deushain, bravely battling Leukaemia.

Meanwhile, Coles has maintained its leadership in the Lead Motorbike bids for the third consecutive year, contributing a significant $252,000 to the cause. The convoy, starting from South 32 Illawarra Coal’s West Cliff Colliery on Appin Rd at 8 am, will traverse a scenic route, culminating at the Shellharbour Airport for a vibrant Family Fun Day.

The Family Fun Day, free for all attendees, promises an array of entertainment. High-octane performances by Ricki-Lee and Thirsty Merc, FMX motocross displays, and a variety of children’s rides and food stalls are on the agenda. The day will also feature a showcase of motor vehicles and exhilarating helicopter joy flights.

WIN News will be at the forefront, delivering timely updates to its audience across southern NSW. Viewers can expect live coverage at key moments:

  • 10:00 -10:30 am – as the convoy descends Mt Ousley, Wollongong
  • 11:00- 11:30 am – weaving through Windang, Wollongong
  • 2:00-2:30 pm – during the Family Fun Day at Shellharbour

Further augmenting the coverage, WIN News Facebook pages will stream the event live, ensuring that supporters nationwide can partake in the excitement. The event’s comprehensive wrap-up will be broadcast on WIN News on Monday, 20th November, at 5.30 pm, encapsulating the spirit and impact of this significant community event.
