Tired of juggling streaming apps? Foxtel’s Hubbl offers a unified entertainment experience.

In a bid to transform Australia’s fragmented media viewing experience, Foxtel has taken the wraps off its much-anticipated unified entertainment interface named Hubbl.

Designed to amalgamate free-to-air, subscription services, and streaming under one umbrella, this innovative platform is poised to reshape the Aussie streaming landscape.

Initially dubbed as ‘Project Magneto’, Hubbl’s main aim is to eliminate the hassles viewers face when toggling between various streaming apps. It is engineered to converge different subscriptions and services into a singular, cohesive user experience.

At Foxtel’s Upfronts event in Sydney, Patrick Delany, CEO of Hubbl and Foxtel Group, elucidated,

“We all love the explosion of choice that streaming has delivered us over the past few years. But the shared frustration is evident: navigating between apps, tracking show recommendations, and recalling unfinished shows. Hubbl solves these frustrations.”

Two versions of Hubbl will be made available to the public: a plug-and-play puck for smart TVs and an integrated TV unit called Hubbl Glass. The latter, inspired by the UK’s Sky Glass, boasts a premium in-built sound bar, demanding only a power and internet connection to operate, thereby reducing cable clutter.

Details regarding partnerships with various apps and other features will be disclosed in the coming months.

Mr. Delany highlighted the significance of Hubbl,

“It’s the next quantum leap in entertainment technology. It seamlessly integrates world-class technology with a bespoke design and unparalleled app integration, placing it leagues ahead of its contemporaries.”

Developed with the needs of Australian consumers at its core, Hubbl promises to weave together free and paid content from various apps, channels, and the internet. It aims to present a seamless viewing experience, either through the Hubbl Hub or the more advanced Hubbl Glass TV.

“It will offer a seamless paid and free entertainment environment, and we are confident it will be the entertainment centrepiece in numerous Australian homes,” asserted Delany.

Hubbl’s genesis has strong backing from global giants like Comcast USA and Sky UK. Its operating system will be regularly updated, ensuring users receive the latest features without needing to switch devices.

Hubbl’s official Australian launch is expected in the coming months.
