In a twist of irony, George Town in Penang saw the exit of King George and his sister Pam, as the celebrity duo faced their final challenge in the sixth leg of The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition.

Upon arriving in the vibrant capital, the seven celebrity pairings had the choice to either recreate a sophisticated dessert at a restaurant bearing the Michelin recognition or muster the courage to try a local specialty, bull’s penis soup.

This peculiar soup is famed for its aphrodisiac qualities, though its actual efficacy remains a topic of debate. Darren McMullen humorously remarked, “they have some great wang in Penang”. However, many celebrities struggled with the dish, leading to a chain reaction of queasiness that had contestants reaching for the nearest bucket.

The next task led teams to Mr. Wong’s renowned shoe store, where the iconic Jimmy Choo began his illustrious shoe-making journey. Bec Judd, familiar with Jimmy Choo designs, nailed the challenge on her first attempt. Contrastingly, the pair Harry and Teddy found themselves having to redo their attempt, after not meeting Mr. Wong’s expectations.

During this, George sought out strategic advice from Darren, who promptly shut it down, noting, “this is not Survivor”. With time ticking, both George and Pam, and Harry and Teddy were under pressure to avoid being the last teams to finish.

Subsequently, contestants were immersed in a sea of lanterns, needing to find a distinct lantern amongst thousands.

The climax of the episode was a thrilling race up Penang Hill, with Jana and Cor seizing the top spot. Unfortunately, George and Pam lagged behind, marking the end of their journey in the competition.

The excitement continues as the celebrities set course for Cambodia. Be sure to tune in next Wednesday, where fears and challenges will inevitably shape the race.

The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition continues Wednesday, 25 October at 7.30pm on Channel 10 and 10 Play.
