It’s hard to believe we’re in the penultimate week of The Block.

As we inch closer to the end, nostalgia is setting in for the Blockheads, reminiscing about their journey thus far.

During the Open For Inspections, eyebrows were raised, with contestants baffled at Kristy and Brett‘s decision to forgo their bathroom redo room. With the finish line in sight, many are perplexed as to why they’d drop the ball now.

A fresh wave of drama is unfolding in House No.1. Until now, Kyle and Leslie had managed to steer clear of any major confrontations, but this week has brought new challenges. The dynamic duo has enlisted the expertise of Troy Lovett, a landscaper who previously clinched victory for Tom and Sarah Jane in Gisborne.

Yet, as Troy rolled in with a sizable entourage and a plethora of premium products, murmurs began among the other Blockheads. The pressing question? How are Kyle and Leslie funding such an elaborate setup?

In a candid conversation with Leah, Leslie revealed their landscaping budget stood at $40,000 for the fortnight. Leading the curiosity charge, Leah and Ash couldn’t help but speculate about the couple’s expenses. However, Kyle and Leslie insist that they’ve managed to strike an above-board deal with Troy, with everything coming in at their stated budget.

Over in House No.2, Leah’s day brightened up when she received a generous $5,500 in Camerich Block bucks from Steph. Eagerly, Leah scoured the Melbourne furniture store for the perfect backyard additions. However, her enthusiasm soon outstripped her budget as she eyed products worth over $15,000.

A hopeful call to Steph for more Block bucks was quickly shut down, with Steph expressing her reluctance to discuss it further.

On the other hand, Eliza and Liberty in House No.5 are making do with a modest team – just two young landscapers to bring their vision to life. Their spirits were lifted with a delightful city escape courtesy of Scotty, a reward for their stellar bathroom performance.

But not all is well in the Block universe. Leah remains skeptical of Kyle and Leslie’s budgeting practices, and tensions continue to mount.

In House No.3, Kristy and Brett find themselves grappling with their landscaper, a relationship that seems fraught with challenges.

Tragedy has struck House No.4. Just as they were coming to terms with Steph’s grandfather’s passing, Gian received the heart-wrenching news of his own grandfather’s demise in Sydney, casting a sombre shadow over the house.

As the clock ticks down on this season of The Block, emotions run high, alliances are tested, and every decision could be the difference between victory and defeat. Stay tuned.

The Block continues 7:30pm Tuesday on Channel 9 and 9Now
