In a surprise reveal on The Masked Singer Australia, the sensational voice behind the mysterious Bluebottle was none other than interior design maven and judge on The Block, Shaynna Blaze.
The evocative performance of Blondie’s Call Me had the audience showering Bluebottle with applause.
Even her showdown with Tiny on Elvis Presley’s classic A Little Less Conversation couldn’t overshadow her. Yet, by the episode’s close, the panel chose to uncover the persona behind the sea creature.
Week one saw Chrissie ‘CSI’ Swan hinting at Shaynna being the talent behind the mask. However, Bluebottle’s intriguing hints this episode led the panel astray, with guesses ranging from Cyndi Lauper and Emma Bunton to Florence Welch and even past participant, Dannii Minogue.
Post-reveal, a light-hearted exchange ensued between Shaynna and Chrissie. “I texted you and you said you couldn’t get here even if you wanted to!” Chrissie shared, to which Shaynna cheekily responded, “I was busy!” The design guru went on to share her hectic travel schedule, crisscrossing Australia due to her myriad commitments.
Further, Shaynna opened up about her suppressed singing aspirations. “[Singing] was something I squashed for a long time, but now it’s time to bring the vocal chords back out again I think,” she candidly shared.
As The Masked Singer Australia proceeds, the suspense heightens. Who lies behind those remaining masks? The answer awaits in the next episode, as celebrities continue their vocal duels in the ultimate Australian game of “Who Sung It?” Tune in next Monday for another round of musical mystery!
