In a thrilling conclusion to the Women’s State of Origin series, the Queensland Maroons are set to face off against the New South Wales Sky Blues in Townsville this Thursday, 22nd of June.
The decisive match will be broadcast live and free-to-air on Channel 9HD and 9Now from 7.30pm AEST.
The Queensland Maroons are on the brink of claiming the 2023 State of Origin title on their home ground, with the condition that they are not defeated by more than eight points. This stipulation is due to the points aggregate format utilised in the series.
The Maroons, led by captain Ali Brigginshaw, will rely heavily on their attacking weapons, Tamika Upton, Shenae Ciesiolka, and Zahara Temara, as they strive for Origin success.
Meanwhile, the New South Wales Sky Blues are on a mission to reclaim the shield and bring it back south of the border. Their formidable line-up includes NRLW stars Isabelle Kelly, Millie Boyle, Jessica Sergis, and Emma Tonegato, all of whom are determined to ensure a Sky Blues victory.
The coverage from Channel Nine will feature host Danika Mason, alongside rugby league experts Phil Gould, Allana Ferguson, and Johnathan Thurston. Peter Psaltis will be providing play-by-play commentary, with Emma Lawrence and Darren Lockyer offering insights from the sideline.
The second match of the Women’s State of Origin series, between Queensland and New South Wales, is set to air on Thursday, June 22, from Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville.
