Australia’s intriguing and influential parenting show, ‘Parental Guidance’, is set to return on Monday, June 5, at 7.30pm, airing on Channel 9 and 9Now.
The upcoming season follows the success of its first, with the intention to ignite nationwide conversations about parenting practices. Parental Guidance presents 12 fresh parenting styles, each characterised by distinctive methods and unique philosophies.
Under the expert guidance of Ally Langdon, the distinguished host of ‘A Current Affair’, and Dr Justin Coulson, a trusted Australian parenting expert, these parenting practices will be intensely scrutinised and evaluated.
This season, the parents are in for a taste of their own medicine as they’ll receive report cards on their parenting approaches. These assessments will become the central point of discussion in the Parents’ Lounge, leading to a vote for the best parenting style in Australia.
The participants will face real-life challenges such as handling online gaming’s dark side, striving for the ideal family photo, standing up against bullying, and tackling delicate conversations about sexuality. Parenting styles ranging from Outback to Influencer, Unstructured to Honest, Spiritual to Stage, will have their strengths and weaknesses exposed.
Reflecting on parenting’s complex nature, Ally Langdon noted that it often feels like “treading water while juggling.” She expressed her excitement about the show’s valuable insights into diverse parenting styles and the chance for all to learn along the way.
Dr Coulson, a father of six and a renowned parenting expert, conveyed his anticipation for observing the dynamics of the participating families under testing conditions. He sees the show’s environment as safe and controlled, enabling viewers to equip themselves with knowledge and responsibility ahead of real-life parenting challenges.
Produced by Eureka Productions for the 9Network, ‘Parental Guidance’ is set to further captivate Australian audiences with its insightful exploration of parenting styles.
