The final house renovated on The Block 2022, a five-bedroom home in Gisborne, has sold for an undisclosed price after being on the market for three months.
The house was built by builder Dylan and apprentice tradie Jenny and featured a 40m-long hallway, outdoor wood-fired pizza oven, and heated in-ground pool set on 5.3ha.
The house was originally listed with an asking range of $4.08m-4.4million, but failed to sell during a trainwreck TV auction episode with bidding only reaching $4.075 million.
While the season’s winners, Omar and Oz, made a whopping $1.6 million profit, the final sale price of Dylan and Jenny’s house remains unknown and is unlikely to be disclosed meaning viewers of the reality competition are will never know the final finishing order.
The property was purchased by a husband and wife who were not viewers of The Block. They were reportedly “wowed by the flow of the home” and could see themselves creating memories with their children and grandchildren.
A spokesperson for Channel 9 confirmed the sale describing it as “a positive outcome for everyone.”
Controversial couple Sharon and Ankur walked away with a profit of $170,000 over their $4.08m reserve when their property was sold in the days after the auction. The result moved the controversial couple into second place in the overall competition finishing $1,000 above Rachel & Ryan who sold their home at auction.
Fan favourites Tom and Sarah-Jane were left with a mere $20,000 profit after their property was purchased during the televised auction process. The couple did however win an $80,000 Ford Ranger Wildtrak.
Dylan and Jenny’s Gisborne house boasted a 7-star energy efficiency rating, Mt Macedon and Red Rock views, and a 395sq m covered outdoor area. The couple runs a building company named Smooth Sailing Designs and is constructing a Gold Coast house with plans to sell. They are also set to marry next month.
The Block’s 2023 season will be filmed at five houses in Charming Street, Hampton East.
