“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Neighbours back home to Network 10, and while we loved the finale earlier this year and appreciated the incredible support from the cast, crew and fans, we continued to hold a small glimmer of hope that one day it would be possible to resume the series.

“We are grateful for the tenacity and determination displayed by Fremantle in securing a new production partner so our association could continue.

  1. Looks like the old ATV Nunawading (Forest Hill) studios will live on and more importantly rare employment opportunities for TV production people is restored, a win.

  2. The show ended with Scott, Charlene and Mike moving back into the street so how are they going to explain Jason Donovan, Kylie Minogue and Guy Pearce not being in the cast when they bring this back?

Also, didn’t they lose access to the street that they use for exteriors? I’m pretty sure I heard something about that a while back. Apparently the people who actually live on the street were relieved.

Hopefully they slash the cast because I watched the final episode after about 30 years of not watching it and I don’t think a single scene lasted longer than 20 seconds in order to cram the entire cast in. As a writer myself I was actually timing most of the scenes because it was so ridiculous. It was like the writers had Attention Deficit Disorder. No need to go to the other extreme like Tyler Perry’s shows where every scene drags on for five minutes but it would be great if the scenes played out like actual scenes and not the cliff notes version of a scene.

By the way, word on the street is that this Amazon deal was in place before the show ended which, if true, means they did the famous actors who they brought back for the finale dirty by bringing them back under false pretenses. Tsk tsk.
