Tuesday Ratings | THE BLOCK on Nine beats out Budget night on the ABC

In the last week’s of the ratings year the competition isn’t slowing down…but the shows are.

A Current Affair (664,000) and The Block (782,000) kick off another winning night for Nine, as it then flips into a repeat of Travel Guides (312,000) which also does solid business in the later night. The Australia v Sri Lanka ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 (233,000) game collects a strong audience in the late night.
Nine first in both primary (26.5%) and network (35%) rankings.

Seven open their account with their best in Home & Away (441,000), before delivering a repeat of Dogs Behaving (very) Badly (322,000) that landed third in the primetime slot. US drama The Good Doctor (211,000) took the channel into the later night, before 10 Years Younger In 10 Days (93,000) and Chicago Fire (47,000) drew in late night audiences.
Seven second in both primary (16.2%) and network (23.4%) rankings.

A big night for the ABC as the new Labor Government delivered its first mini-budget. It delivered solidly across the night, starting with Budget 2022/23: The Treasurer’s Speech (445,000), then into Budget 2022/23: ABC News Special (314,000) and Budget 2022/23: Reaction and Analysis (214,000). Afterwards, repeats of Louis Theroux: Life on the Edge (141,000), People’s Republic of Mallacoota (55,000), and Four Corners (32,000) filled out the evening.
ABC third in both primary (10.9%) and network (17.5%) rankings.

The Project (169,000 6:30pm; 261,000 7pm) slips into near oblivion for 10, and yet The Traitors Australia (259,000) lifts to its second best for the season. The Cheap Seats (318,000) slips the smallest amount to take the later slot, before it changes over to new and repeat eps of NCIS (155,000; 76,000).
10 fourth in both primary (10.1%) and network (16.4%) rankings.

Great Coastal Railway Journeys (144,000) took the lead for SBS, followed by the premiere of the excellent Australia Uncovered: Me and My Tourette’s (138,000) series, and then Dateline (93,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (4.6%) and network (7.9%) rankings.


KEY DEMOS

16-39: The Block (139,000) triumphed over Nine News 6:30pm/6pm, Seven News 6:30pm, and The Cheap Seats.

18-49: The Block (255,000) conquered Nine News 6:30pm, Seven News 6:30pm/6pm, and Nine News 6pm.

25-54: The Block (327,000) delivers another triple demo win to Nine, followed by Nine News 6:30pm, Seven News 6:30pm/6pm, and Nine News 6pm.

MULTI-CHANNELS

Budget 2022/2023: ABC News Special – EV (119,000) led the multi-channel race for ABC NEWS.

No changes to the previous week’s primetime line-up after the Total TV figures were added: The Block (Nine) lifted 29% to 1,374,000; Dogs Behaving (very) Badly (Seven) lifted 9% to 550,000; and The Traitors Australia (10) lifted 37% to 472,000.

The BVOD best were The Block (222,000) and Home and Away (128,000).
